No, we were working on a tree farm. You don't get to stop for thinks
like injuries.

One day, a root from a juniper root ball pierced my thumb muscle,
right through the meaty part against the bone on the bottom side, and
through my palm.

They pulled it out, rinsed it in a mud puddle in the field, and
stapled the wounds together with the burlap stapler. Ouch. And then
told me to "suck it up" and get back to work.

The worst, looking back, were the burns on our backs from leaky
"indian tanks" with Roundup in them when we were weeding. If you didnt
hustle, get the spraying done, and rinse your back off with water,
between the sun and the chemicals you'd be looking at open blisters on
your back by the end of the day.

Know what, some days I miss that job.
