>> Spent a great weekend visiting my Grandparents in Western NY (Tonawanda to >> be specific). The town is right on the (remains) of the Erie Canal and it >> was the 25th "Canal Fest" - so lots of rides, games and stuff to do. Felt >> like we walked for at least 15 miles. ;^) > >I was in the parade if you were there - I march with the Sanborn Fire >Company Band. I'm not joking when I say it rained on our parade >though.
No - we stayed in that day. That rain was a bit more than we would put up with for a parade. But Saturday and Sunday were gorgeous. The only down side is that it's now official: my hair has thinned enough for me to get sunburn on the top of my skull. ;^) >Next time you're headed up for a visit, drop me a note! Well - we'll almost definately be up in September for a wedding. We're trying to get up more often since my Grandparents are really getting up there in age but things rarely work out the way I'd like them to. It's a much quicker drive from Scranton (4.5 hours average) than from Boston (at least 8.5 hours) so we're going at least twice a year for a day or two each time. I'll enjoy the autmumn trip better - now that I have central air at home I really HATE visting people without it during the summer!
