I would rather spend time acclimating them to a newcomer, than have two babies of the same species. I've done the two kitten thing, thinking it was cute, they grew up attached to each, completely disrespectful of me or their surroundings. Never made that mistake again. Since then, the cats I've had, one at a time, have been the best cats ever. Almost acting like dogs, completely obedient, completely attached. I'm sure everyone has had different experiences in this regard, but I try not to fix what isn't broken, and this method works best for me. Even if I found two abandoned little babies (which, while living on a farm, happened quite often) I would have to give one away or take both to the rescue shelter. I just won't raise two anymore.
