nonono. East of Snob Hill. More like Huning Heights. Around Jefferson or so there is in fact a large gun shop. Which is close to the WalMart at Zuni and San Mateo (though I've never had trouble finding an English speaker there and I used to live in the neighborhood).
There is even some sort of social club establishment right by there on the north side of the street which could be the AA clubhouse in question. Jefferson is a guess -- all this stuff is fairly close to Thai Orchid though I know and that's at Graceland or Washington. The yuppy bar - O'Neill's, but that is new in the neighborhood. The Thai place was new when I moved here in 2003. I suspect he hasn't been here for a few years. It's not 98th as there is no Walmart out there. Ditto Arizona. Let's face it, most of Central is kinda edgy. I know people who refuse to drive down there ::eyeroll:: if it takes to spook you is a few drunk Indians....
