I think that is the "duh" finding of the study, e.g. if you have a bunch of
guy/girl friends that you hang out with, and you all drink beer and watch
football, or go to the beach and watch people, those activities begin to
take a toll on you and your friends. As Deanna says, you don't necessarily
do the same things as your friends, though, so I would more precisely call
those folks "activity partners", whether they are relatives or friends, or
just people that you hang out with at the gym.
