Naw - there's still some life left in that old guy. I mean I fixed it... so it's not broke. So I won't fix it. ;^) As a virtual server host it's actually pretty competent. Dual P3 1000's aren't fast by today's standards but neither are they particularly slow for this application either. Besides - if I even do need raw speed I can just copy the VPC image to my personal machine and run it there for a while (my workstation is Dual Opterons with four Gig of RAM) - the machine images are completely transferable between virtual server and virtual PC. Actually I don't think it's bad - I think I just put back in the wrong slot. It's an old mobo - it uses PC 133 RAM. There were often finicky about the order that you placed chips. > You did pull /everything/ out before trying the > new PS, right Jim? ;-) Yup - and then I think I put it back wrong. ;^) But I stress-tested it for 24 hours (albeit with only 2 of the three RAM sticks recognized) and it ran like a champ. My only real problem now is that when it's on it completely hoses my wireless router which is sitting next to it - I can't get a signal 10 feet away. Going to have to do some rearranging...
