Well don't cream your jeans over the latest limpblog profundity. What about all
the other cases where administration officials have interfered with scientific
reports. Are they all BS? You didn't mention the anything about the USGS cases
or the NOAA global warming report. How about that lovely incident with the NIH
and the shrub appointee who had a NIH breast cancer web site state that women
who have had an abortion have an increased risk of cancer? Or the latest piece
of admin bs with the surgeon general world health report that was refused
because it did not support the politcal agenda of the administration.

One or two incidents I can see, but this stuff is coming out every couple of
weeks. There are too many incidents to be just the work of an isolated
individual. I know scientists who are leaving NIH and NIMH because of the
political interference. This is completely unacceptable.

This nation's position in the world is very dependent on scientific research
conducted by government scientists and research sponsored by the government. If
the research conclusions have to be politically vetted before being released,
there is no way scientists can trust the results.
