My opinion ....

Schedule schedule schedule routine routine routine ...

I think free access to the outside it not necessarily training him to NOT go
inside ... but of course that's my opinion. :)

What I would do is stick to as many days of a strict routine that you can.
Wake up, potties. Feed, potties. Crate if you arent around. As soon as out
of crate, potties. Etc ...

And when you take him out, dont play with him. Say a code word, whether it's
potties, pee poo or whatever. BUT DONT PLAY! Dont go inside until he's done
something, pee or poo. Wait and wait. Here's where patience comes in. When I
trained my Igs to go in the rain and cold, I stood out there with them until
they went. If they got wet, I got wet, etc. Didn't care if it was pouring.
Small sacrifice to pay for clean carpets.

Definitely strong discipline AS SOON AS THEY ARE HAVING AN ACCIDENT INSIDE.
You really got to catch them at it. Obviously members here have had
different experiences with disciplining accidents, try them all if you wish,
or what is comfortable for you.

I believe anything like this is always what works for an individual in their
settings ...

But above all else, routine routine routine until they have it cemented in
their head that OUTSIDE is where the bodily fluids go.

And that's my 4 cents on a Tuesday.

:)
