I went with a 50" Samsung DLP, they tend to be considerably cheaper than the other types you mention. I ordered it from Amazon, they had it delivered and setup in place, and the delivery guys took at the boxes and packaging material away so I wasn't left having to dispose of it myself. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it. For stuff like sports in HD, the quality is superb. My only real gripe is the blacks are not the greatest, which is more noticeable when watching DVDs.
