i did something incredibly stupid- i agreed to do a favor and add some updates to an iditarod mushers website so that his current (non-professional) webguy could ride along the trail taking pictures and sending news. The site is ugly, and unprofessional, but I figured I would just pop content into existing pages so no big deal.
As it turns out the pages, nor navigation isnt' set up. I am getting information from the mushers horribly nasty mother, his wife, the webguy and his wife and all kinds of friends. I am supposed to sit at a pic waiting for their every whim to come via email and instantly it should be posted, although there is no place created for it to go, and it needs to be converted from excel or some such crap. The mother has sent a billion updates with nasty nitpicking changes about the site (for example she sent THREE emails in the period of an hour complaining we called her the "iditamom") and has NEVER said anything nice - just said that she isnt' criticizing (SURE she isnt'), just offering suggestions (MY ASS). I was told I could have whatever I wanted in exchange for my services. I think i should ask for a dog or their first born kid or something? Moral of the story: Never do volunteer work for someone elses mother - dealing with my own mother is bad enough Vent finished.
