Because you can't cure a cold, you can only address it's symptoms until the
body's natural defenses take over.

We can only muffle the symptoms of violence in iraq for so long, eventually
the iraqi people's natural defenses will have to kick in if the virus of
violence is ever to be cured.

I don't think anyone has any delusions that we are a cure in iraq....that
must come from within.
