Thanks to all for your wishes, they're much appreciated!

To be quite frank, I'm amazed! The operation (a revised septoplasty and
reduction of inferior turbinates) took place on Thursday morning at about
11am. I regained consciousness at around 12:30pm after the surgery and dozed
on and off for the rest of the day :)

At 9:30am on Friday, the surgeon gave me the all clear to go home and I was
picked up a little after 12pm.

Comparing this second surgery to the first one is incredible. After the
first surgery I had *huge* amounts of pain and lost sensation in my right
cheek/top lip for around 4 months.

This time round, I've had more heavy duty surgery done, I have no pain and
all of my facial feeling is intact. Despite all of the surgeons dire
warnings of brain damage etc, I've actually come out of this surgery in
better shape than the first surgery.

My tinnitus is already reduced, I'm very stuffed up at the moment but my
nose is running which is good as it hasn't really done that in over 2 years
and the more it runs, the more my sinuses clear and the quieter the tinnitus
becomes.

I have to see the surgeon in about 8 weeks for a follow up but I think that
this time round, I'm pretty sure already that it has worked in the way I was
expecting the first one to.

All in all, it's been an amazing few days and I'm chuffed to bits with the
fact that I have *no* pain! All I need now is for the internal swelling to
subside and my "tubes" to dry out and everything should be back to normal!

Paul
