Seems like the big mistake was not putting the phone in the
"boot-loader" mode prior to running update.

I've looked into this, but I'm thinking of upgrading to a new Verizon
phone when the 6800 comes out in a month or so.

Although I also want one of those new iPod Touches and I'm guessing
the finance committee will only approve me for one or the other so ...

The phone may get the upgrade  :)
