Thanks! :) Smarter than most humans (takes her about 15 minutes to learn tricks ... we've stopped teaching her tricks, not because she can't learn any more, but because we can't think of any more to teach her!)
VERY high-energy ... we take her for two 30-minute walks a day. The minute she gets back she plays for another 10-15 minutes (or as long as we let her). That picture was taken during one of her playtimes ... Shibas love to race around like wild dogs, around the dining table, over the couch, through every room of the house, barking their heads off ... so much so that Shiba owners have coined the term Shiba 500 to describe it and we all know what it means. :P Territorial with other dogs but not overly aggressive unless they show aggression first. This is a trait of the breed. Everything is mine, mine, mine, including their humans. Great watchdog -- she lets us know if anyone steps within 50 feet of our house. Aloof and independent a lot, but loves attention and people on the right terms. She loves to be petted, but when she's done, she's done and will walk away. Will give kisses when asked ... if she feels like it. High prey drive - another Shiba trait. She's fine with our cats but other small animals -- dead in one snap. LOVES car rides and to go places because she's just the definition of curiosity and has to be into and involved in everything. Really an awesome dog for us DINKs and people who are really active ... but no GP, that's for sure! She took some getting used to after being around the GPs, beagles, and labs I grew up with. For anyone who's interested, this is a pretty darn (tongue in cheek, but with a good basis in truth) look at Shiba temperament: http://www.bravewolf.ca/shibainu.html -----Original Message----- From: Scott Stewart [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, September 13, 2007 2:07 PM To: CF-Community Subject: RE: Mailbox theft She's a cutie....
