Hell, Bush is great friends with a family that has, um, a few bad apples (!Could'a made a great show of making people safe, (without making my ass pucker at the idea of flying on a commercial liner)- probably woulda actually made some stuff better, ta boot![3]) Ok, maybe too simplistic there- :) Why wouldn't the commander n chief, and his cadre, listen when people said, "look, we need to do X"? Dick at least had gotten Boyd's OODA speech- I think Rummy too- yet there they are "technology makes up for the missing meat", so to speak. Just total BS, on top of older BS. That crap with the CIA vs. the White House? Just thing after thing, that really REALLY need to be addressed. Sweeping it under the rug, and making it into a "us vs. them" simple "stay or go" argument, is disingenious**. **Not that you, or others on the list are doing that- and I don't mean to be harsh on any republicans that I know- "some of my best friends..." :) Why not just prop up Ir, fall back to Af (to battle the drugz, let's say. Or the resurging Als- whatever works), and just say that's the plan[a].
