Well yeah, but that's not exactly the same as having every major road
in a metropolitan area of 1.5 million people turning to ice without
warning or preparation.

As for seattle.. I guess snow in Seattle is like snow in Tampa.  It's
snowed in Tampa before, and I would imagine the commute was hell there
too when it did snow.

This 1/4" incident was worse than the time we got 22" of snow earlier
this decade.  At least then it happened on a Sunday, and they were
predicting snow (although only 2 to 4 inches!)... so pretty much
everyone was already home.  Even if it had been a weekday, with threat
of snow, they close the schools.

Of course, with 22" of snow, the kids missed school for 2 weeks.  I
even missed 3 days of work!

Best part about moving to north carolina - snow days from work!  That
*NEVER* happened in Michigan.  Didn't matter how much snow you got,
you still had to go to work.
