I will check your link, but I don't think the debate is whether the earth is warming or not.
The debate seems to be whether or not people are causing Global Warming, or contributing significantly to it. The Politicians and the capitalists say no, primarily because if they say yes then they will be forced to cut into their profit margins and restructure their businesses to do something about the problem. Scientists, the public, thinkers, philosophers etc. all agree that mankind's activities have sped up global warming past what it would have been without our inputs. You must see, though, that given the above we're doomed. Greenland will melt, the polar bears will go extinct, thousands will die every year because of heatwaves. Storms will worsen, property damage and loss of life will increase drastically as a result. Sea levels will rise and fish will die. The rich will move to areas where there aren't as many problems and life will go on. The money will continue to flow, wars will continue to be fought. Dams and sea barriers will be built.The poor and pretty soon everyone that isn't very wealthy, will continue to suffer.
