really Dave, you don't need to do anything else. Your layout is fine, but still doesn't do what I want, but that's my fault because I didn't specify that it was supposed to be full height with the footer along the baseline of the browser, plus my example was fluid height-wise.
I really just thought that that css example might be useful to other people. It works great for me and it was something I had struggled with before.
