I love my ReadyNAS from Infrant Technologies.

I've got an older model. It's a large shoebox form factor, takes four SATA
drives (I've got four 400 GB in RAID 5).

It has two USB ports which accepts external USB storage (and can be
configured to automatically back-up to it), WiFi adapters (it also has an
internal PCI slot for that as well), printers (it has a built-in print
server) or UPS monitoring. You can actually configure this bad boy so that
when you plug your digital camera into it it automatically copies all the
images to a specific folder.

The system runs a linux OS off of rewritable flash and can automatically
update itself. Configuration is done via a pretty decent web interface.
Lots and lots of options. The box natively supports most streaming media
servers (DLNA, IO-Data, Squeezebox, etc) can act as a DHCP server, time
server, etc.

TONS of protection options. Data journaling, network recycle bin, built-in
or networked access management, automated data versioning, etc. You can
assign a drive as a hot spare and the system has intelligence that all but
eliminates the chances for multiple failures. It sends me email alarms when
it gets full, or warm or wants to talk.

Just love this little box. Been running great for well over three years
now. My only real problem is that it's full and I need another one.
