Now you can go through again and listen to the commentary. That's what I'm doing. I didn't mind the length soooo much considering everything else you got in the Orange Box. But I'm wondering what they're going to for "Episode 3": they don't have any 10 year-old sequels in production that I know of. ;^) > I think that the time to create these games is just too great and they > can't produce them like 'Episodes' at all :-\. > > There should be about a month or so in between episodes, I think. Well... blame the gravity gun. ;^) QA testing of a "Half-Life 2" game takes significantly longer because of the freedom allowed. They have to punish the engine then let QA punish it. I remember one issue they discussed where they had a room full of crates which worked fine... until play testers carried them all to another room and used them to build a staircase to reach an apparently broken window which led to no place. As you listen to the commentary you'll hear a LOT of instances where the game was changed, sometimes pretty dramatically, to account for play-testing or story problems. Now I've got a strong hunch that the portal gun will make an appearance in "Episode 3"... and if you thought QA and game balancing for the gravity gun were hard just wait for that. ;^) Jim Davis ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Download the latest ColdFusion 8 utilities including Report Builder, plug-ins for Eclipse and Dreamweaver updates. http;//www.adobe.com/cfusion/entitlement/index.cfm?e=labs%5adobecf8%5Fbeta Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/message.cfm/messageid:245342 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5
