Just an aside - and of course im not a lawyer - but is she really wants to
leave "everything" to your family ... she can do so in "life". I think she
can give everything to a "trust" right now and make you the executor,
pre-death. This rules out any chance of the "family" fighting it. My
terminology is a bit off and without spending too much time I really do not
have right now (I shouldnt be checking community emails anyway) this is what
I remember from looking it up a while ago when I was researching living
trusts, etc.

In fact they are tax shelters and your kids may save a lot of estate taxes
if she thinks about doing things that way instead.

YMMV and just FYI, but maybe something to look into.

Someone else here might have an inkling of what I am talking about ...
