Phew. That's a tough question. My short answer: Any SEO firm worth their salt will make sure that your entire company stays involved in the SEO process on a daily/weekly special. Because the company itself has to think and breathe in SEO terms. Anyone that says "don't you worry about it, I'll get you ranked and indexed" without soliciting your daily input or showing you how to go about your day to day activities with SEO in mind, isn't worth their web hosting space.
