I don't think mainstream Christianity is that fragile. However the fundies are. Like I've said before, the fundies aren't the majority, not by a long shot, but they want everyone to think that they are, so they scream the loudest, over the most inane things.
When I talk about mainstream, I think of people like my mom, she's the most loving, tolerant, forgiving person I know, she doesn't wear her faith like a badge of honor, she sees it as a call to do for others less fortunate, to give of herself, to know that it's not her place to judge others. She doesn't ask for anything in return, and she doesn't stand up and scream "look what I did". Her faith is her strength and nothing shakes it. If your faith is affected by a movie, then you need to re-examine your faith. -- Scott Stewart ColdFusion Developer SSTWebworks 4405 Oakshyre Way Raleigh, NC. 27616 (703) 220-2835 http://www.sstwebworks.com http://www.linkedin.com/in/sstwebworks Boycott Sys-Con http://www.sstwebworks.com/blog/index.cfm/2007/10/16/Boycotting-SysCon -----Original Message----- From: Zaphod Beeblebrox [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, November 15, 2007 9:07 AM To: CF-Community Subject: Christian's: Paranoid or not My wife is out of town so I logged onto her email account to make sure she hasn't been emailed our latest indoor soccer schedule. I'm going through the list of emails from our coach and come across one labeled "Warning: Golden Compass". I read it and it talks about how these movies are made by OMG an athiest and he's "targetting our children" and "going to make them athiests". Is this the new "backwards masking" of the 2000's? I'm pretty sure I don't go around warning people that such-and-such movie was created by a christian and he's trying to lure you into becoming a christian. Is the christian faith so fragile that a movie, a song, or even knowing someone who's not a christian can destroy it? zB ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Enterprise web applications, build robust, secure scalable apps today - Try it now ColdFusion Today ColdFusion 8 beta - Build next generation apps Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/message.cfm/messageid:246473 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5
