Fight it. Call MaxCare directly and ask them for documentation on their decision so you can bring it to your attorney. See what happens.

They contacted Carmax and were told that they (Carmax) wouldn't be covering it because it was due to corrosion. A year after buying the car... the exhaust gets a hole thru it? That's certain not "normal" wear and tear. Dealership wants $2100 to fix :( Taking it to Midas tomorrow. Hopefully they'll provide a happier estimate. If not... duct tape.
