Well - maybe not _quite_ that extreme... but you are thinking outside the box! ;^) I'm not saying that the discussion has to be a virulent as it's become. People don't have to be "tolerant" of others opinions to be courteous. But the sheepishly superior, plaintive calls of "can't you all just get along?" don't help either. There's simply no compromise that will appease both sides. It's really as simple as that. Personally I'm happy enough to stay out of their church if they stay out of my kid's science classes... but alas, it doesn't look like that'll happen.
