Okay, I need some help now folks. I work in a combo CF/ASP shop that, like most every place else, is run by people who read the tech sector news and watch client responses. We used to be a FoxPro shop then when the web got popular they added CF web interface and then later moved to SQL server and now have added ASP.
I just got told, in no uncertian terms, that if I want to see our copmany continue to develop in CF that I need to beat the .Net hype going on everywhere. My boss is the type that knows and understands technology, and I really feel like he's begging for a reason to continue to use CF (as opposed to issuing an ultimatum). The two things that he said are a problem are the cost of buying a second server package and the fact that there has been 0 leakage or even baseless hype about Neo or CF 5 in the media. He had not even heard about Neo until I mentioned it to him, and I didn't have enough facts on hand to adequately explain what it is. Oh, as a side-consequence I was told that I could go to CF_North, but only if I wanted to pay for it myself... at least for the moment :/ HAYULP!!!!!
