I remember awhile back a lot of us were playing in the Miller Light online poker tournament...anyone still playing online poker? I recently got back from a trip to Las Vegas and while I didn't play any poker out there (other than blow some money on the poker machines which are kind of dumb) it did kind of revitalize my interest and I've been playing a bit online at nlop.com. It's all free play, but lots of prizes for winners, and they also have girls-only tournaments which is kind of neat. I've found that while I do really well in a small games (I win the 10-player table games at least 75% of the time) I have a hard time when it get to tournament play, due to the way it just keeps cycling players onto the tables (so you really don't get heads-up until very late in the game.) I mean, I'm still fairly good at getting far into the game...in my first girls daily tournament there were around 50 players and I had the chip lead when it got down to about 3 or 4 before badly blowing the game. Second time I played the girls only, I made it into the top 10 before quickly going out with bad play again. Same thing most recently...I was in about 20th place in a tournament of almost 500 players and chip leader at my particular table, before playing two hands rather poorly and going out. I haven't quite figured out why I almost knowingly play bad when it's getting closer to the end, other than I get really tired of playing after 2-3 hours of it, and the blinds going up so high and rather quickly as the game progresses, that I just am not playing as patiently and intelligently as I do through the entire game in reaching that point. Anyone else have the same experience or have any suggestions? I've kind of stopped playing at this point though, since it does seems like there are better ways for me to spend my free time then getting mad at myself for doing a good job to get so far into a game only to blow it at the end.
