The research seems to indicate that bodies have a set timespan to live. Currently, death is usually preceeded by months, sometimes years of illness and suffering.
The researchers have postulated that several common diseases are caused by Mitochondria in cells breaking down. Their drugs target mitochondria directly. Researchers found that mice treated with these drugs showed an amazing lack of cancer or other diseases commonly associated with death, however they still died at the end of what would have been their normal lifespans.
