No, most of the time folks are looking for a script to integrate into
an application.

Besides, PHP (scripting language), Ruby (scripting language), Perl
(scripting language), Python (scripting language) etc etc are all used
to write web apps just like ColdFusion (which is described as a
scripting language).

You may not like that but the reality is that ColdFusion *is* a
scripting language and therefore you write ColdFusion scripts...
