What about the disputes over the translation of the bible from latin to English
and other languages. I was thinking for instance of the classic saying of Hugh
Latimer to his friend Nicholas Ridley, as they were both about to be burned as
heretics.

Play the man, Master Ridley; we shall this day light such a candle, by God's
grace, in England, as I trust shall never be put out.

The issues of translation of the bible to English or other languages is/was
very similar to the attitudes many conservative Islamics have towards the
Koran. In other words a prelude to the reformation. I just hope that if its the
case with Islam its a lot more peaceful than the christian reformation.
