They are absolutely still married because of the convenience and the political team they both make. It's quite obvious neither of them are in the marriage for romantic reasons at this point, though I am sure they both "love" each other. They are probably great friends but are well past the "romp in the lush green meadow full of flowers and butterflies with a blanket picnic to enjoy and Air supply playing in the background" stage of life.
I've never seen them any other way except as a married political team/family. A much accepted practice for thousands of years in all countries and walks of life.
