Art and Darrell were examples of something that is sorely missing in today's
NFL, true leadership. Both men are class acts on and off the field, Green
still lives in the DC area and contributes of his time and money to local
causes.

Awesome to see both of these guys make it, Green was certainly a shoe-in and
*finally* Monk gets recognized for his total contribution to the team, not
just numbers on paper (which were certainly still outstanding anyway!) Even
better, these were both two true gentlemen, soft-spoken and humble, great
examples of how to play the game with dignity. Particularly Art Monk who
surely would have been more well-known had he been the type to toot his own
more than the quiet, unassuming man he was. Perhaps you had to be a die-hard
Redskins fan to really understand how important he was in the success of
that team in the 80's but still, it was frustrating to see him passed over
year after year just because he wasn't a long-ball receiver.
