Well...the PS3 fully supports Keyboards/Mice (both via USB and Bluetooth)
but I'm not sure if Little Big Planet does. In fact I doubt it does since
one of the fundamental aspects of the game is that up to four people can
create at the same time.

The toolset in the game seems incredibly usable from the videos I've seen -
a basic palette tethered to the character and color coded (so that they
don't get confused when there are multiple players).  Tools, materials,
stickers and objects can be found (seemingly) very quickly using an
interface very much like the UMB.  Manipulations (growing/shrinking,
twisting, sliding, etc) are done with the sticks.

Items either automatically weld to other items or (with a different tool)
subtract from them allowing for tremendously complex thingamajigs.

If the game is only partially as absolutely awesome and just plain FUN as it
looks (and I dare anybody to watch the videos released so far and not at
least smile) then it's game of the year, hands down.
