Actually, there really are few that you can compare to Roger, when you look at his string of grand slam finals, and huge list of records he has broke. Just looking at things like his strings of matches won, win percentage in finals, Roger won his first seven Grand Slam singles finals...that's just unheard of in the Open era. >Many feel that Federer has the most dominating all around game of all >time, and I tend to agree with them. Indeed. The only player on the men's side that you could really argue for that most of us remember would be Borg, who had not only the great string of wins at Wimbledon but also several wins at the French. Most other players that you listed as "dominating" (again, just looking at the men for the sake of argument) just were no threat on clay, and certainly none could boast of the kind of winning streak that Roger had until this year. Of course, another reason it is harder for one player to dominate in golf is the longer career players have...good players are simply in the game longer to add to the competition. >It's a tough comparison, but one that is fun to do anyway....that's what >makes sports so great. Indeed, and one that comes up a lot. Here's a neat graph I found that actually charts all the top players in both sports. Pretty cool to see it laid out visually: http://www.kampasresearch.com/Woods-vs-Federer.html >I don't necessarily agree with your conclusions (I don't know how much the >nationality really plays into it), but it's fun to actually see a tennis >discussion........have I actually found another tennis fan???? Avid fan yes...although I am a horrible player myself! :-) But I grew up watching Breakfast at Wimbledon and have been watching ever since. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Adobe® ColdFusion® 8 software 8 is the most important and dramatic release to date Get the Free Trial http://ad.doubleclick.net/clk;160198600;22374440;w Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/message.cfm/messageid:256647 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5
