John McCain said last week: "We're succeeding. I don't care what anybody says."
And apparently that includes the commanders on the ground in the green zone who issued a all-hands order last week that all personnel were to "remain under hard cover at all times" as well never leave home without a helmet and body armor. So here's the bottom line, the facts are in: after 5 years of "combat operations" American soldiers still can't walk outside without body armor and that's inside of "safe zone". There are only 2 options now: leave or nuke the place and leave. It's time for some hard fact-based decision making and that's why we need a CIC with some balls to make the tough calls. How about a little testosterone in the Whitehouse? It doesn't make sense to have the 4001st American die to justify and clear a path to death for the 4002nd and his friends.
