I can't believe it!  I hate Sports Illustrated and never read it, but I
happened to read this one article back then, and remember it vividly to this
day.  The "Sidd," IIRC, was a takeoff on Siddhartha, and he wore a boot on
one foot and always had this peaceful look on his face.  Really well done,
because it wasn't absolutely obvious at face value that it was a hoax, so it
drew you in.
