That's because decades of that kind of stereotyping and the institutional racism that it helped breed, served to keep down an entire race in this country for generations.
It's much easier for white people to sit back and chuckle at this kind of stuff because they do not bear any scars from the kind of destruction these prejudices can inflict when they are NOT just done in the name of humor.
