I'm on Vista Ultimate, IE 7 and another machine is business with IE 7- I don't see the problem on either. Have you tried uninstalling it and reinstalling? I know there were problems in some cases going from the alpha/beta versions of SilverLight to the production version - the rule then was always to uninstall the old version before installing the new. It definitely sounds like something isn't being updated that needs to be (probably a registry entry... do you have any protection software that might be preventing this? I think that AdAware has an agent that protects against registry updates and such. You might try disabling any such programs and giving it a shot. I know that the built in stuff (UAC, Windows Defender, etc) protects against this kind of stuff as well... but since nobody else is seeing the behavior I doubt it's anything endemic (unless you've fiddled with settings. You might consider logging in as an Adminstrator and trying.
