I ran out of space on my macbook hd so I ordered a 320G bad boy. Before I installed it, I shut down all my apps, and ran Time Capsule one last time. It took me about 20 minutes to replace the hard drive. This is one thing that is definitely not easier on a mac :)
Loaded up the OS in about 45 minutes....no reboots necessary. Chose the option for restoring a profile from a Time Capsule backup. Waited for about an hour while everything was transferred. I can't remember if it rebooted or not....I don't think it did though. Started Firefox and it came up to the pages I was surfing right before I shut down :) The downside is that it did have to re-download all the system updates....7 of them totaling around 500meg. But that's just frickin phenomenal to go from non partitioned hard drive to fully installed/applications restored state in less than 2 hours. Just the fact that I don't have to reconfigure every damn program is worth every penny of this machine. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Adobe® ColdFusion® 8 software 8 is the most important and dramatic release to date Get the Free Trial http://ad.doubleclick.net/clk;192386516;25150098;k Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/message.cfm/messageid:258226 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5
