Thanks.
I have discovered that being a prior service NCO, you are not given a
lot of options and it does not seem they are overly excited to get me
in. The only jobs they offered was truck driver and infantry, and I am
already infantry. So I figured I would exercise option 18, first duty
choice and stay infantry. Colorado was my first choice and I am actually
glad I got it instead of my second, Fort Irwin, Ca. Still, from one blue
state to another. Heh.
It was not easy getting in. I needed three waivers. 1. Grade
Determination (making sure I keep my stripes. 2. Medical (for my
cholesterol). 3. RE Code. I was involuntarily separated in '95 for being
over weight by 1%. On June 5th I sign my contract. I am on DEP right
now. So now I have to be extra good. No run-ins with the cops, no new
tats, etc... Not a problem. I am now hoping for an assignment to a
Stryker brigade. That would kick ass.
