So I use this huge photo of Gunnery Sergeant Dan Daly as the background of
my desktop. He's one of 19 men to receive the Congressional Medal of Honor
twice, and one of the finest Marines in history. Every day I see this
battle-hardened stare looking at me, challenging me. And when I think I've
reached a limit, I just take one look at this man wearing two Medals of
Honor in full Marine Dress Blues.

So I do a little look-around on the Internet, and I notice something
interesting about the 19 men who are double-recipients: most of them are
Irish.

10 of the 19, to be exact. In fact, four of them were born in Ireland.

One of these 10 Irishmen was one of five Marines who received both the Army
MOH and the Navy MOH for the same action (they stopped doing this after they
settled on awarding just the Navy MOH to Marines), but just look at these
statistics!

Do you have any idea what it takes to be awarded the Congressional Medal of
Honor - twice?!

Much respect to the Irish!

Respectfully,
