Although I think that's what the Obama campaign has shown - progress in the human idiot. That said, I don't it's truly him as much as people feeling as if the smear campaign has swung too much in the last 2 decades. Bush said in 2000 that he was going to reach across the aisle and stop some of the bickering, but of course he did the exact opposite. So the success of the Obama message shows that people are finally sick of it. Taking the next step of acting on that feeling is now the question.
