Eclipse
-------
I've really come to like (not love) Eclipse a lot. It's still wonky as hell
and worlds more difficult than it should be to back up and configure, but
it's become my one stop shop. The interface has improved 1000% since
version 1 but still needs about 1000% more to be really top-notch. Then
again it's free so who's complaining (I guess that would be me). I add in:
CFEclipse (Lots of useful views)
Aptana (I like the FTP pane here better than CFEclipse although it's
still not perfect)
Quantum DB (annoyingly you can't copy results well, but it's still
better than other options I've tried)
Remote System Explorer (a must at the office where I'm managing
remote AIX servers)
QuickREx (Regular Expression tester)
CorelDraw
---------
The best graphics package on the market and reasonably priced (best of breed
vector illustration, A-list bitmap drawing and a tons of extras for less
than $300).
TextPad
-------
The ultimate NotePad replacement. Block-level selection, regular expression
search and replace, lots of automated conversions and it opens giant files
quickly and easily.
Virtual PC
----------
It's free now and insanely useful. I've got "base" installs of all Windows
OSes that I can configure as I need.
MS Office and Visio
-------------------
I love Office 2007 and Visio has been indispensible since long before MS
bought it.
