Today I went to put my contact lenses in and was greeted by a dull
pain in one eye. I took the lens back out and the pain went away.
Tried again, same thing. So today I'm at work without contacts. My
eyesight isn't that bad. While driving, I can read license plates up
to about 40 feet away pretty easily. The only problem I usually
encounter is reading small street signs, like residential ones.

At one point in my vision history, when I was younger, one optometrist
told me he thought I should do eye exercises to fix the astigmatism in
my eyes. I never listened to him because it wasn't bad at that point.

Fast forward 20 years and now my astigmatism bothers me a bit more. I
really would love to do without contacts and I don't want to have the
eye surgery. I'm creeped out by it and the commercial running locally
that says "This is the sound a doctor makes when the blade looses
suction" really really creeps me out.

So, has anyone done/know of such exercises for the eye. The
preliminary google searches have turned up mostly "Free eye exercise"
pages that are adverts for a kit to purchase.
