I'm not really into Karaoke, but I bought SingStar just to give it a shot -
at the very least (I thought) it would be a good party game.

I've only been trying it out (since I've got the house to myself for the
weekend) and I'm not ready for a real review, but so far it's okay. My one
big complaint is there's no help AT ALL. I'm starting to get the hang of it
(it's ALL about pitch: volume, enunciation, etc seem like they're all
ignored) - but some songs I just can't get a single note on.

I actually did really well (on "Easy" at least) for "Pretty Woman",
"Daydream Believer" and "Should I Stay or Should I Go" but was abysmal on
"Piano Man", "Stand" and "American Pie" (and everything I tried).

I doubt I'll ever really get into it. It seems like you would REALLY have
to practice a lot to do really well and my throat is horribly sore just from
the hour I played. But if you have any love of Karaoke then I think you'd
like it.

Now if they could just releasing some American-minded music. (What I really
think they need is a large collection of TV Theme songs... now THAT'D be a
party game!)
