That's a fantastic win for consumers.

ANd here I was moping and groaning to everyone that consumers were allowing
governments to
wrest control of the internet and kill perhaps the only steady innovation
and stimulus in technology for the last few years!

Excellent that this ruling was passed, and even better that Canadians are
also fighting attempts at locking down the internet in that country as well.

The EU seems likely to protest heavily against France's EU proposal which
would require ISPs to shut down internet access for those using any P2P
application in a "3 strikes" type of arrangement.
