Chairman Arafat has made a career out of appealing to other nations, and for that they have poured tons of money into suppporting him. He is a liar and two-faced, but has been successful in obtaining support from both sides.
He has been to several "meetings" and signed a number of accords, and immeidately reneged. I hear the expression "moral obligation"and the reality of it is that none of them have any moral training at all. There is no democratic Arab state. It has always been about power, personal enrichment, and opression. All of them do it, the only difference in in degree. From moderate to extremist. The fact remains that NO arab state has ever won a war. be it Jordan, Iraq, Iran, Afganistan, Kuwait, or Egypt. The US and its allies were paid to fight the Kuwait War for them, and Former Bush mishandled that. Saudi begged the US to put in bases there in order to protect them from invasion. All that, and behind the scenes still financiall supports terrorist attacks on innocent beings. The sooth-sayers call it Rage, or revenge, or whatever, and in reality it is opression, and personal power. President Bush made the famous speech over and over again to the effect that Nations that harbor terrorists are themselves terrorists. By extension, this has to extend to the PLO and Arafat's power structure. In addition Iran, Iraq, Syria and others who provide arms, money in support of destabilizing the whole area. The relative few that are exposed to the west and can get a decent education, usually emigrate to other countries where they can be free of the opression. But there is a problem there as well, because they still support the extremist causes. I feel sure that when it all comes out in the wash, the nations that harbor the most terrorists will end up being the United States, and Great Britain. It is only fair that the Israeli Government and its army dismantle Arafat's government, and bring all the terrorists to justice. Even Pakistan is not out of the terrorist woods, yet. There are, of course peace loving Palestinians, and they have assimilated into Israel and have become law abiding, hard working citizens. There is a final solution, I don't want to go there, though.
