When I was a kid I went to a Baptist summer camp, where they performed an "intervention" on me to try to "save my soul" and told me that my entire family would burn in Hell together unless we believed they way they believed. Scary crap, man. Scary crap. I think I was 11, and I came home from that camp a total wreck. By the way, I went because my best friend was Baptist and she was going.
Later, one of my sister's friends that went to that same church got married, and in the wedding ceremony, one of the vows was that she would be "subservient to the Lord and her husband in all things, and be fruitful and procreate." *shudder* On Mon, Aug 4, 2008 at 11:23 AM, Adam Churvis wrote: > By enrolling your child in a Texas church summer camp, you are exposing her > to the viewpoints of other people... who do not recognize the viewpoints of > other people. > > Not a good idea, IMHO. > > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Adobe® ColdFusion® 8 software 8 is the most important and dramatic release to date Get the Free Trial http://ad.doubleclick.net/clk;203748912;27390454;j Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/message.cfm/messageid:265222 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.5
