MS does provide free testing images of IE 6 and 7 on XPsp2 and Vista for use on (the also free) Virtual PC: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=21EABB90-958F-4B64- B5F1-73D0A413C8EF&displaylang=en The images expire periodically and they post refreshes (this one should be refreshed soon). I love the VMWare stuff as well, but I'm wary about testing browsers/programs via WINE.
