Yeah I saw a special a long time ago about a man powered flight project
that was using long distance bicycle racers for the pilots/engines. It
spent a moment on the food these athletes ate every day when they where
training and burning ~10,000 kilocalories a day. The food filled an
eight foot long banquet table. The show did say that they tried to
match the general guidelines of 50% carbohydrates, mostly complex, 30%
lipids and 20% protein.
